I made this!

From Newark Post - 8/5/05

This morning at breakfast, I snagged a Newark Post and found these in the police blotter. Newark, seemingly like a perfect little town like I used to think...

Always turn the car off and lock the door, I bet this guy thought it would never happen to him...

Girls especially need to watch out for guys like this.

Also, in the Newark Post they nabbed 122 people in DUI checkpoints. Well, that was for a month long of stops. That's quite a bit, I think they need to keep it up. Clean up this town!

There are also some good things in the Newark Post. Like now through Ausust 31st Longwood Gardens is giving the opportunity for 16 students to learn in it's 2 year tuition free Professional Gardener Training Program. Check out Longwood Gardens for details.

Ok, I'm going to let this one go now too.

Ping Pong, Guess Who, and McDonald's second chance.

Last night, Jenni came over. We had breakfast for dinner then were going to either rent a movie or finish "Big Fish" but the other two beat us to it. No big deal, I don't think we had enough time for a movie anyway. So we played ping pong, which she was horrible at, then played Guess Who and she beat the snot out of me, and checkers, where I beat her by just a little bit. Here are some pictures to recap the evening.

Now is time for McDonald's second chance. I went back this morning, and I think they read my blog yesterday because I must say, they did well. The food was good and hot, and the o.j. was cold, but the eggs could still use some love. Eggs are hard to get right fast food. But this is the Deluxe Breakfast, not the Big Breakfast. I guess the rich get better service...

Also, when I pulled up in the parking lot, I parked right in front of this sign. Parking limited to 30 min? I don't know, but that just seems a little rushed right? I mean, I guess it is fast food, but sometimes you like to relax, hang out, but not at this McDonalds!

It's such a nice day so far! I drove with the windows down to work today, it was like perfect weather for me! Partly cloudy, cool but warm... very nice... I could certainly see this as a biking day. But if there is any chance of rain for the next 10 days, big K won't dare take out his steel pony.

Well, it's starting to get a little on the busy side today. I'm going to go for now. I'll leave you with this little link. I have honestly no idea what it's about so don't blame me for anything on it. It was on someone elses blog and you can change their headline. Peace!

Microsoft Longwait, er, I mean Longhorn slash Vista...

I just noticed today that Microsoft has given a new name and some insight on it's new OS, Vista. In an article I read about it, they say that it has been accused of copying Mac's OS X. Huh...

Oh, before I forget, my Dad keeps saying that Apple is changing from the Mac OS to Windows! I know why he says that, he's confused! Macs are switching to Intel processors from the Power PC processors, but that's it. There is no plan to make Mac for PC or anything like that, but my Dad is swearing that future Mac's are going to use Windows. He said that just like Beta and VHS, Steve Jobs is just tired of fighting Bill Gates and is giving in. You try and explain it to him, I'm done.

Ok, back to Vista. Here are few sites with Microsoft Vista screenshots.
- Microsoft Pressroom
- Extreme Tech
- Forever Geek

Vista Internet Explorer Screenshot:

Apple Safari Screenshot:

Looks pretty similar... I just read a statistic that said that Windows software runs on 90% of personal computer systems worldwide, but just because there are many more cockroaches than humans doesn't denote a higher species does it?

There is a great review of Vista here. It seems very in depth, worth reading the whole thing. there's quite a bit though.

Well, to change gears a bit, I found another "Plan B" thing. Those Wonka people are up to something! I got this pic from Nerds Rope. I love that candy...

Is anyone else concerned with this? I would love to know if anyone else has even noticed it.

Well, I'm just about to wrap up another day here at AAA. Second to last day. I think I'll shut down this post here, unless I find any cool links or anything. Have a good one, and thank you for calling AAA.

America, land of the big, except breakfast.

This morning, being the second to last day of work for the summer, I decided to treat myself to McDonalds. Ooh boy was I excited! I tried desperately but to no avail to find a picture online of the so called "Big Breakfast" in advertising, but there are none suitable enough. Here the the "Big Breakfast" I recieved today...

Big? I don't think so. Good? The sausuge wasn't too bad. Oh, I also ordered an orange juice, because you have to orange juice for breakfast, and it was warm! Warm orange juice! Oh boy, I was mad! Then I started eating the hash brown, and that triple fried goodness melted away all of my worries... aaahhh... until I took a sip of that warm orange juice! I was mad again!

This is supposed to be America! Land of the big! The big SUV's. The Super Bowl. Big Presidents (Abe). Big everything! Except the Big Breakfast at McDonalds! I'm too mad to type, maybe in a minute I'll put more.

Cars and things.

Below are some pics of Colby's new ride. He brought it to church last night.

His brother Chucky (Charles) just came back from being on a submarine. The Los Angeles class USS 710 Augusta. Here are some pics and info. The pics are from online, Chucky didn't give them to me.

He wasn't allowed to say much about the spec's but he could say that it goes faster than 20 knots underwater and deeper than 800 feet, but that's all he could say about that.

The picture above is Chuck's submarine. I'm still looking for some better pics, also Chuck said he had 2 pics, I'll have to have him send them to me so I can post them. Here is some general info about the type of submarine Chuck was in.

General Characteristics, Los Angeles class

Builders: Newport News Shipbuilding Co.; General Dynamics Electric Boat Division.

Power Plant: One nuclear reactor, one shaft
Length: 360 feet (109.73 meters)
Beam: 33 feet (10.06 meters)
Submerged Displacement: Approx. 6,900 tons (7011 metric tons)
Speed: 20+ knots (23+ miles per hour, 36.8 +kph)

SSN 710 (USS Augusta)
I found a list of weapons the sub has. It has:
- (4) 21 inch horizontal launch tubes
- MK-48 ADCAP torpedoes
- Tomahawk land attack missiles (TLAM)
- MK-67 mines
- MK-60 mines

Another cool link for the sub.
The cost for the sub is approx. $900 million! Whoa!
The crew contains 12 officers and 115 elisted.

Well, that's enough submarine info for now. Let's change gears.

I got moved around at AAA. Always with the musical chairs for me... I guess occasional people don't get a fixed seat. No problem, it's kind of fun moving around all the time. But this time, I'm closer to the supervisors desk... that's no good.

Nothing really too new. Church last night. I think the "Party" was going on, but I couldn't partake in it. I dropped Nick off at Kristas and I went to Jenni's real quick. Ate some mac-n-cheese... that's about it.

Well, no out the ordinary cool links for now, maybe later. Peace in!

Thoughts.

Nick and I went to the Trailspinners meeting last night. It was neat, I don't think that the meeting we went to was particularly awesome, there didn't seem like anything new was going on. Although, there is a White Clay Creek Poker Run in the works, I'll keep you updated. They seem like a great crowd though!

While surfing the IMBA website, I found out about this thing called the National Bike Patrol. Check it out if you like riding and helping people. Maybe we can form a group! We can get cool socks and jerseys and stuff.

I have to go to the dentist today to have my wisdom teeth checked out. I think I'm getting them out during my Christmas vacation. They don't hurt me right now or anything, but they just need to come out before they do start to hurt.

Here some things I could really use:

Security device.

A flashlight for reading a map at night in the car or illuminating the surface of the moon.

This is great if you want to spray your tire with documents!

I need this to transfer dino dna.

Well, you get the idea, I wanted practically everything on this site!

Here is a great link with a bunch of other cool links.

Got this joke from a fellow blogger, thanks! Troy would appreciate this one...

A lawyer runs a stop sign and gets pulled over by a Cop. Being a typical lawyer, he thinks he is smarter than the Cop so he decides to have some fun at the Cop’s expense.

Cop says, "License and registration, please."

Lawyer says, "What for?"

Cop says, "You didn't come to a complete stop at the stop sign."

Lawyer says, "I slowed down, and no one was coming."

Cop says, "Exactly! License and registration, please."

Lawyer says, "What's the difference?"

Cop says, "The difference is the law says you have to come to a full and complete stop. License and registration, please!"

Lawyer says, "I’ll make you a deal. If you can show me the legal difference between slowdown and stop, I'll give you my license and registration and you can give me the ticket. If not you let me go and no ticket."

Cop says, "Certainly. Exit your vehicle, sir."

At this point, the Cop takes out his nightstick and starts beating the ever-loving crap out of the Lawyer. All the while, the Cop kept saying...

"DO YOU WANT ME TO STOP OR JUST SLOW DOWN?"

Check out this new Google search in the honor of me!
Make your own here.

Nick's lawn business may be comprimised if this spreads.

The pics from this place look fun, if you have the right bike and equipment!

I never made my mom that mad!

That's good for now, I have to go to the dentist office. Take luck, and care, care for the luck you might have!

Fun links.

Here are some fun links and time wasters...

Virtual bubble wrap, gotta love it!

Link about dumb smart college kids... I didn't read all of it, but it looked interesting.

Game called "Crimson Room." I got all of the items, I think, then gave up. Tell me if you beat it.

I think I just put this link on here a few days ago, but I love it so much! Fly Guy.

Get the circle to the square.

I got 4263 and 65 squares on my first try. Try it!

Fun game.

River Adventure Pics

If any of you went on the a youth group outing to the Allen's on Saturday, here are some pics. Feel free to have a look. I posted them with no real editing and didn't delete the blurry ones or anything, just threw them online for your viewing pleasure. I put the URL and the link together so that you can write it down if you want.

Jet skis, scratched dvd's, and sunglasses.

It was a great weekend, a great weekend indeed. Let's see...

On Saturday, I went with the youth group to the Allen's "River Adventure." I started out a little slow... just hanging around, then Colby invited me to take out one of the jet ski's, and I was gone! I came back to eat a slice of pizza then took off again with Nick in tow. Actually, just on the back, not really in tow. But anyway, it was a blast.

Colby's new ride.

After that, Nick and I met up with Dave at the Kochers house. Started out with a little Halo action. I didn't partake, I didn't feel like being slaughtered by the Davinator. So then we limped our way
through Garden State, good thing I've seen it before, but I felt bad for everyone else. Then I had some Red Bull and the rest is a blur... I don't know what was going on...

Results from Red Bull may vary.

This is what Mike gets for not going biking with Nick and I (see below)! I went crazy!

Then Sunday came. Jenni came over for lunch, then we went to Main Street in Newark, did a little perusing of the stores, like Grass Roots and stuff... Got some pictures, I mean I took them, didn't buy them, but took them with my camera. Either way...

Then at church on Sunday night, I ran the sound by myself, well, Marcus was there, but he let me do it my way. It was fun, a little scary, I could tell I needed practice but I think that it's a great way for me to learn it by just t
hrowing me in there.

Then I went over Jenni's house and hung out. Jenni also made me 3 blt's. They were great!

Oh, I almost forgot, Nick and I went biking on Friday. It was great! We did the Judge, then Pike Creek church loop thing, then 9 mile road backwards starting at Bryans Field. It was great! Nick went out hard as usual so I just outlasted him and at our last ride I took him on early in the ride then kept a good lead. He was totally wasted though. I gave him some cookies I had to help get some energy, gave him just enough to keep going I'm sure, I was feeling pretty good though because I took my time in the beginning. It was fun! We invited Mike K., but he didn't want to get his bike dirty. A chance of rain, but I didn't feel any drops, did you Mike?!

Nick, doing his thing.

Ok, now yesterday. I picked up Jenni, we at lunch the golden arches, then took the Buick to the shop to get worked on. Got to see Colbys new car. A nice pearl Prelude with tv's in the visors and PS2... all that good stuff. Should be ready for Wednesday night. Then after the shop, we went to the mall real quick, then over to Costco. At Costco, I got some new shades because my other ones broke on Saturday, but no problem, they were Walmart Foakleys. I actually got the same ones I used to have before, Uvex interchangeable lenses and they're polarized. I love 'em! I got them for $25. They were $30 a year ago and sell out pretty fast. I love the clear/smoke lense for mountain biking. After those errands, Jenni and I went back to her house, watched Myth Busters, then I went home.

When I got home, I went for a really fast paced little 3 mile ride around White Clay. I fell twice and pretty hard, got some new scrapes. On my way back up the hill, something happened to my bike, I wasn't even shifting gears, but my rear tire locked up and the front derailleur acted funny. With a little tinkerking, I managed to get it going again. I think that I may be a little rough with my bike, I better take it a little easier from now on.

Ok, now we are all caught up to today. Welcome.

I wanted to add some timewasters, but the work internet blocks Ebaum world. There are some great games I wanted to post on here, I guess I'll have to look for something else...

Actually, for now, that's good. I'll let you all chew on that while I find some good stuff.

I might ride this...

I might ride this, if like 4 other people were riding them with me.

It's no joke.

Ok, for real, this is the bike I want!

I want this bike so bad, it hurts! Below the picture is an excerpt from the online info about the bike.

It's called SASS, from Bianchi.

Fully wicked chromed frame and fork. The seventh edition of our famous one-speeder. And since you can’t chrome aluminum and you can’t chrome carbon, the frame and fork are steel, the frame material God rides on Sunday. Did we mention it was chrome?

You know it's hot. Please everyone, pitch in for an early birthday present. Look, if just 30 of you just give $28, then I can have it. But I may be able to find it a little cheaper, if I can, don't worry, I give you the difference back. Tell me what you think.

Back by popular demand!

Yeah, I really liked the old look a lot better. I just wanted to make sure somebody saw it before I changed it back. For those of you who didn't see it, well, sorry we missed you!

Well... Let's think of what's new...

Last night, after dinner, Nick and I did a nice little ride. Now his bike is squeaky and mine is silent. But he also has an XT rear derailleur and upgraded shifters and brakes. I would like them too, but I just don't need them. He needed to get them when he had to replace his old Acera. He also upgraded to a 9 speed cassette, but why am I making this whole blog about him?! Either way... we did a nice little ride through part of the Mason-Dixon trail near our house, trails were pretty try (that was a test) and then took Creek Rd to the small bridge over the creek, followed that over hopkins into the Nature Center, then up the hill, across the field and up the road to the Park Office. We then went up the small road to Corner Ketch, then back down some decent hilly, windy, singletrack and then the same route back home, except we went up Wedgewood Rd. Lot's of fun though.

When we got through everything and were on our way home, my stomach had had enough! I wanted to throw up but couldn't. It may have had something to do with the 3 lbs of teryaki steak I just ate (well not really 3 lbs, but a lot)! But luckily, I brought some Brioschi, that stuff works miracles. I was back on the saddle in no time and beating the Nick up the hill (but he also had some shifting problems)!

I can't wait for tomorrow! The Allen's have a youth group thing going on and it should be a blast, even though I'm there to mostly just help out. I'm not allowed to have fun. Sike! Sike na! But after that is a movie/Halo/Katie beating Dave feastival at the K's! It's going to be great, because I'm bringing a Red Bull.

On Ebaums World, I just watched a video of a guy pulling his big toenail off with vice grips. That's disturbing. I need to know details, anybody with details or anyone with a good imagination and likes to make things up, leave a comment. I would put a link on here, but Ebaums is blocked from work. I also have only been there like twice, I like big-boys better, I think...

That's a good enough post for now, maybe I'll get some time wasters on here in a little bit. Pace makers!

It's better than being naked!

I found 2 shirts that I want. Pretty bad too. The first one is Lances yellow jersey. Well, not the one that he wore, but one you can buy, for me. But if the price for that yellow jersey is too steep, then one of you can buy me this one, its significantly cheaper, but equally or not greater in coolness.

The more and more I look at my new template, the more I don't like it. I really think I'm going to be going back to my old look. You know what they say, people in glass houses sink ships.

If someone were to either give me this bike, or let me borrow it for a year, I would seriously consider never owning a Specialized again! This may be the bike that converts me!

I got to touch it at Bike Line... I'm in love...

Oh, I won a Sierra Mist at work today. We played "Let's Make a Deal!" The thing was, whoever had a 1994 penny, well, you know I did! Booya! Ooombop... I'm so happy! Ok...

It's been constantly call after call! Uhhh...

I also wouldn't mind getting this bike either.

This is what goes on inside of my head!

Well, that's a good post for now.

New Look

What do you guys think of the new look? Be honest too. It seems a little "busy." I may go back to my old one. We'll see...

Funny Pics!

Here are a few funny pics for ya!

I actually might have a use for the tombstone...

You wanna laugh?!

If you wanna laugh, then you have to check out this. Biker Fox. He lives and rides around in Tulsa. I've met him and see him now and then. Never on the trail, but riding on the street on his mountain bike or in coffee shops.

But if you really wanna laugh, then check out his pictures here!
