Rendering my life away...

I spend a good amount of my life rendering, so I have to think of something else to do. You know, to maximize time. Anyway, I'm working on a 733 MHz and 1.5 GB of Ram. So render times can become pretty long. I have been working on a dual 2.0 GHz G5 the past few days, but that only has 512 Ram right now. More is ordered. The G5 still renders faster.

Ok, onto more stuff. I'm not going to backtrack today. You know, give the recap of things since my birthday... I'll have to do that later. I just have to tell you about my job!

Oh man, I love this job! I can't believe I get paid to do this! Well, I hope I get paid... we never discussed that... oh well... Anyway... Time just goes by so fast! It's like the perfect environment... great coworkers and bosses (sounds like a video game)... great hours... It's all just great! At AAA, I need, no I NEED to take a few regular breaks. Just to keep my sanity. But here! Oh, here! I forget to take breaks! That's how much fun it is! For lunch, I get however long I need! I usually take 45 min - 1 hr. That gives me time to run errands and eat lunch. When I mean run errands, I mean run back to my room to get something to bring to student accounts or something. Not real driving errands. Although I could!

So that's just a tiny update. I'll try to get some pics of my work for you all so you can really see what it's like. Well, talk to you later!

A whole lot of nothing.

Whoa, I was just logging into blogger.com for the first time in like a million years and I noticed that my picture is like super old! I also realized that I haven’t posted anything new for quite some time now, so I’ll fill you in a few things that have happened recently.

I guess the only place is to start is to start with the most recent, that way we don’t lose any more time! I have been working at Educational Television (ETV) for just about a week. I love it! I am doing video editing, graphics and opens for area graduation DVD’s, technical directing… and a whole lot more. Don’t worry, I’ll go into detail.

Today is Union High Schools graduation at the Mabee Center. I am technical directing for that and the rest of the graduations that we do. The technical director is the one responsible for switching the cameras as the director calls out commands. Example: The director calls out “ready one.” I press camera one on the preview “bus” (row of buttons). The director then calls “take one.” I press cut, which switches the image that the audience is seeing to the new image of camera one. Get it? I’m sure you do.

Recently, I have been working on the open/intro to the DVD of Tulsa Community College’s graduation. I’ll post it on Google video when I’m totally done, which should be soon. I’m having such a blast at my new job! This is exactly what I want to do. I go in from 9-5 and time just flies! Except the time from 4-5, that last hour is kind of weird… I think time stops!

Let’s see… I ordered Avid Xpress Pro HD yesterday and it should be here by today. UPS says it’s in Tulsa right now, “Out for delivery.” I hope I get it before this weekend so I can install it. We got just about enough money back from buying our computers this year in the MMI that we could afford one $300 program. I just decided to purchase Avid because it’s $295 educational price. I’ve been extremely happy with Avid.

Ok let me try and hit just one more topic before I go. I have a lot more to post and as a little teaser, they will include, my birthday, my move from Wesley 8 to Wesley 3 (dorm room change for summer), my Suunto Vector, pictures of where I work, picture of my MMI class pic, my outing with Matt, update on future events in working with ETV… I guess that’s about it, but I’ll try and think of some more.

Well, thanks for reading this much! I hope its enough to please everyone for now because I may not be able to type more until tonight or tomorrow. Unless I get Avid today, then I’ll be editing like all night!
