Google Videos

I've known about Google Videos for a while now, but I just noticed that you can upload your own video, and of any file size! And I quote:

"
We're accepting digital video files of any length and size. Simply sign up for an account and upload your videos using our Video Uploader (please be sure you own the rights to the works you upload), and, pending our approval process and the launch of this new service, we'll include your video in Google Video, where users will be able to search, preview, purchase and play it."

So, that's very cool. I am actually uploading a project I just did in class. Right as I'm typing this... I am uploading a few right now. I'll post links when they become available, so just be patient. I'm going to work on this for a little while, so I'll talk later!

Quick little post.

Hey again. I'm just putting a small post in because there are some cool links I want you all to check out. I don't know if they are as cool as I think they are or not, but hopefully they are.

YouTube - Broadcast yourself. Watch and share your videos worldwide! I know a few people already know about this, but if I have any viweres that aren't as geeky, then check it out.

Peerflix - No DVD Rentals! Trade your DVD's! It's kind of a neat concept, but I have to look into it. You mail your DVD's in to get different DVD's and then keep them if you want to. Also, they cover any lost, broken, or damaged DVD's. Worth taking a look though.

Google Pages - For those of you who have no idea how to make a website, but want an easy way to do it that will look half way decent, check out Google Pages. You need a GMail account, so if you don't have one, just leave a comment or contact me and I will invite you, it's by invititation only.

Well, that's about it for now. I hope you check those links out. Please comment about what you think of them. I'm interested. See ya!

Sorry about the lack of posts!

Hey everyone!

I'm back! Sorry it's been so long, but I can explain.

Last week, at around 1:25am (Sunday), so late Saturday night, my roommate and I were walking back to our dorm when we thought it would be fun to slide around on the ice. It's like ice skating without the ice skates. We weren't even really goofin around, we were just running then sliding on the ice by our dorm. After a few runs, I decided to run one more time and I did. Then all I remember is starting to fall backwards then I woke up in an ambulance with someone sticking a needle in my hand.

Whoa!

They saw me come to and the EMT's said, "Michael, you're in an ambulance. They said that they found you outside having a seizure on the ice."

I was thinking "What? Did they just say what I thought they said? I don't have seizures. What was I doing outside? Who said this? Is this a dream?"

Then they said they were taking me to the hospital. I noticed that they stuck another needle in my forearm. It didn't really hurt. Then they put a neck brace on my and strapped me down nice and tight to the stretcher.

I started thinking again, "Is this really happening? Who are these people? Think Mike! Think! What happened!?"

I started talking to the EMT's, just trying to show them that I am ok and everything. I started to remember what happened. I told them that my roommate and I were sliding around and I must have fell. They told me that I was out for about half an hour.

I got to the hospital and eventually my roommate was able to come see me. He said that I slipped, fell, had a seizure for about a minute, was unresponsive for 5-10 minutes, then was still unconscious but acted as if I was sleeping or something.

I got all checked out, MRI, Xray on my neck, 2 check ups and so far so good. It's been a week now, so I guess it's all better now. But that's my story. I hope you believe me. I had the knot on my head to prove it, but it's gone now. I also have a small bruise on my hand and arm where they stuck me.

Everyone was great about it as well. My RA, my roommate, my old roommate, and my girlfriend all followed the ambulance to the hospital and were really great in helping me out the days after wards. I have a lot of people praying for me, I know, and I really appreciate you all. This could have been really, really bad, but thankfully, it wasn't. My family sent me a care package, Jenni (girlfriend) got me some stuff to cheer me up and I had a lot of people pray for me that I have never met before.

I was a little depressed for just a few days and I think that's because things are hard to deal with when faced with the harsh reality of mortality. I could have died, it's as simple as that. And I wasn't even acting like a total idiot, I was just sliding around. But it happens. I am all better now though. It's nice to know that everyone cares about you, but I hope you don't have to experience all that just to see what people think about you. I have to run now, I'll try and post again later!

Good news and bad news...

Hey all! I have some good news and some bad news. Well, actually the bad news could be seen as good news! Or you may not see the good news in the bad news but if you see the good news in the bad news then thats great! Otherwise it may all be bad news to you. If that's the case, then you're a glass half empty type.

Moving on. The bad news is that I may not get the first podcast on the air as soon as I thought. I thought by Saturday. Although there is still time. I have to finish building my DVD in DVD Studio Pro and turn that in with my interactive CD from Macromedia Director. Ok, I'm totally name dropping right now... So that's holding me back.

Another thing is holding me back as well though. I want to make a good looking intro and I put together a sweet little diddy in Motion, but I want to use Soundtrack Pro to create a decent intro. Or maybe I'll use some podshow music... Either way, I don't think I'll release until I get everything just the way I want it, but that's good news because when you see it, it should be pretty well put together! And I will just reuse the same intro and bumper in future podcasts, so that I can crank out podcasts a little faster.

I have a dialogue scene production tomorrow and I'm directing, so I gotta run! See you all later! Have a great night!

Progress is being made!

The video podcast is coming along nicely now. Things are getting in order. All I have to do it shoot and get the media. I set up FeedBurner, OurMedia, and Archive, so the RSS is set, the site is slighted adapted and I should be hopefully shooting today but it may be another day before I can insert some graphics. I don't want a "naked" vlog! After I post my first video, I will tell PodcastAlley and see if I can get on iTunes as well. Well, stay tuned, good things to come!

Vlog coming soon!

Hey everyone, I just wanted to let you know that there will be some vlog, a video blog, coming soon, that's why I changed the url! Right now there is no specific name for it, but if you have an idea, leave a comment, I may use it. It may just start out as something like "The Mike Show" nah... maybe just "Scrap Paper." I have really kinda just fallen in love with that name. Oh well, let me know what you think!
