MTB racer? You have to see this!

I feel as if I've had an affair...

Ok, now wait just a minute. Let me explain. While out running errands today, I swung by the Trek store. Yes, I know that I ride Specialized, but I wanted to see if my friend was there.

He was. But that's not the case.

Something caught my eye. It was something that I saw in a catalog before.

It was the Trek 69er.
Single speed.
Hardtail.
Inverted double crown 100mm fork.
Root Beer colored.
And best of all... 29 in front and 26 in back.
Wow.

I fell in love with a Trek! Trust me, that's the only Trek, besides Nick's that I have ever ridden. Oh, and that one time the Royal Rangers rented a carbon Trek Fuel 98.

But this thing was pure freak. It was a monster. A Frankenstein bike. But so beautiful.

I am speechless. I am without speech.

It's raining again. Who could have guessed it...

Yup. Another day of rain. Wonderful.

I'm just doing a little pre-work blogging. Here is another photo of Jenni and I leaving to work "together." Awwwww.

While I was driving to work, I saw a car I never thought I would want, that I wanted. It looked like the new Hyundai Azera.

I looked it up and got some details. Here is why I want one.
- Front, side, and curtain airbags
- 3.8L V6 (like my old Buick)
- Front wheel drive
- 17 inch wheels
- Heated side mirrors with power close and turn signals
- Dual automatic climate control
- Heated leather seats
- Power adjustable steering and foot pedals
- Rain sensing wipers

- 10 year / 10,000 mile powertrain warranty
- 5 year / 60,000 mile new vehicle limited warranty
- 7 year anti perforation warranty
- 5 year 24 hour road service
- 12 month / 12,000 miles replacement parts warranty
- oh, and it's got LED rear lights!

It looked pretty good! I was impressed. If you get to see one on the road, take a look at it. Maybe in 5 years I'll get one! Who know!

Well, I'm setting up my Avid to my specifications right now. Just setting the background/bin colors I like, setting up my view menu, my toolset layouts... It's nice to have everything just how you like it because you tend to be more comfortable and work better that way.

That's it for now, I'll try to post later at lunch or something. Jenni packed me a ham, pepper jack, and pickle sandwich. I love those! I also have some pecan swirls, sunchips, and animal crackers. See ladies, I'm easy to please.

In case you missed it....

This is an excerpt from the show today. Enjoy!

Just another day...

It's another rainy day in Tulsa. Who would have guessed it?! I think it's like a record. 15 days of rain. I really want to get out there and ride. Maybe I'll go running today instead.

Well, here is a shot of Jenni and I leaving work together. It's so funny! We have real life jobs! Wow! Well, she doesn't but it's still a job.

Also, it was a friends last day at work so we went out to eat downtown. Well, we work downtown so it wasn't really a stretch, but it was fun. I got a big honkin' burger. We went to a place called McNellie's I think.

That's about it. Take care!

It's too wet to ride and I'm too tired anyway.

It's raining outside. That means no riding today. There's also rain in the forecast for the rest of the week. At this rate, the trails will never be dry! I don't mind riding on the road but I really want to ride on some dry singletrack.

It's rainy. We just ate dinner. Templeton is sleepy. We're sleepy. But I'm out of deodorant. I really should go get some. Also, Jenni got ice cream yesterday so maybe I'll have some of that so I can muster up enough strength to leave our apartment.

Oh, this is a great looking mountain bike film. You have to check it out if you enjoy cross country riding. The thing I hate is that most mountain bike videos are about downhill riding. And while it's cool, I'm a cross country rider.

So check out this video: 24hrs of Pain

Second half of bike commute...

Well, I would consider that a success! It only sucked riding back home because I was a little tired and there was a head wind slowing me down. Also, my Timbuktu was freaking heavy on my back!

Ok, here's the stats!

Date: June 25
Mileage: 9.41
June mileage: 18.12

Max speed: 25 mph
Ride time: 44:11 (nonstop)
Average: 12.7 mph

It was a good day at work. I really enjoy it, but there are some times in the day that it gets hard to do stuff.

I also snapped this pic while riding. From my phone.

Jenni is making dinner, so I better get going. Just wanted to give an update. Also, I want to try to keep riding to work, but my bag is way to heavy on my back. I need something else. And I need to give my hiney a rest.

Talk to you later! Get out there and ride!

1st day of bike commute.

Wow. I just got to work. And I biked here! My first bike commute to work ever! Anyway, I'm going to steal something from a blog that I read. Follow the "Up in Alaska" blog link on your right...

Date: June 25
Mileage: 8.71
June mileage: 8.71
Temperature upon departure: 76 F w/77% humidity

Now, that isn't my total for today yet. That's only riding to work. I still have to ride home.

Guess what. I forgot my socks. Yup. I'm just glad I didn't forget pants! How would that be, me sitting at my desk with bike shorts on!

Ok, stats...

Mileage: 8.71
Max speed: 23 mph
Ride time: 37:12 (nonstop)
Average: 14 mph

I'm happy with myself!

Here is the only thing... I wish work had a shower. I tend to sweat. But I cleaned up in the bathroom. There is a YMCA down the street that I may try and get a membership at. I should see if work will pay for it... It's worth a shot.

Well, that's all for now. Have a great day!

I'm tired of making up titles!

Yes, I know everyone is mad at me for not updating you on everything, but in my defense, it has all been moving at a million miles per hour. I graduated, got married, got a job, and got a dog in like 4 days! Not really, but it felt like that.

I hope you enjoyed the video of the
apartment, feel free to watch the tour if you missed it.

Married life is great. And I'm sure (I hope so) Jenni would say so too. It's great having your own place. You get to decorate how you want, eat what yo
u want, light candles (at ORU we couldn't have candles), and more!

I'm actually more fit now than I was before I got married. I knew it would be like that too because I was too busy with homework and stuff to workout before. Now, I just work all day (which I love) and come home, eat dinner and either go for a bike ride with Jenni or a jog with Jenni, or a walk with Jenni and
Templeton...

Oh, you haven't met? Templeton is our dog. He is a terrier mix from the SPCA. He is probably the most personable dog I have ever met. He's smart, he loves to be pet and rubbed, he's energetic, he doesn't shed, he barely barks, he doesn't smell... he's just great!

Changing lanes... for those of you that don't know, I'm an editor for the OklaTravelNet. Actually, I believe the real title is "Craft Editor." I do a lot
of clean up, not full edits, and I'll upload the videos to the website, prepare them for uploading... a good mixture of stuff.

I really, really enjoy my job. There are great people at work and it's also very interesting stuff. The OklaTravelNet(.com) is a broadband online show about travel and tourism in Oklahoma. We have a live show everyday, but enough
archived video to keep you busy all day.

I just want to say that I am, and Jenni... I guess I'll just say that we are both, just so blessed. I mean, we had a great wedding, great honeymoon, a great apartment, a great dog, I have a great job, we got new bikes, and just so much other stuff.

We want to thank everyone for everything they did for us and our marriage. With the wedding money, we bought new bikes, a great full set of living room furniture (love seat, sofa, 2 glass end tables, glass coffee table, and 2 lamps), graduation money got me a brand new HDTV... just so much stuff!

More on being blessed... I also found a coupon in the back of the "Apar
tment Guide" book that said $300 off our first months rent! That brought rent down to $270 for our first month! What a blessing! Also, I got a new cell phone, for work mostly, that they pay for most of it! It's really cool, it's the Helio Ocean. I just got it yesterday. But see what I'm talking about! God is so good!

I have to say that this really comes from tithing with a good heart. Jenni has taught me to be a good tither and there is something in that that just makes all the difference in the world! There have been some really great sermons at Church On The Move that reminded me a lot of what my Dad has talked about in the past that helped me to understand tithing.

I am also blessed to have such a great family. Both immediate and extended. My parents have taught me many things and the number one thin
g has always been, trust in God. My Dad gave me some Bible verses that I have been meditating on over and over. Here they are:
- Proverbs 14:12: There is a way that seems right to a man but i
n the end it leads to death.
- Proverbs 16:3: Commit the LORD whatever you do and your plans will succeed.
- Proverbs 16:9: In his heart a man plans his course but the LORD dete
rmines his steps.

Wow.

I promise that if you go over those verses, new things will open up to you. The Bible also says that you are to be in the world and not part of it and I notice that that is my main witness. I don't just jump in peoples faces and say I'm a Christian, but already, people at work know there is something different about me. I don't drink, I don't curse, and I let that be my witnes
s. I don't condemn people for doing those things either.

But I have noticed that when I put the Lord first, and my wife second, great things happen. Really amazing things.

Well! I hope that was long enough for you! As a treat for reading the whole
thing, enjoy these pictures! Take care!

Mini post...

Hey everyone. Here I am in Tulsa. It was a nice Saturday. Anyway, I tried YouTube's direct upload thing. It's a little pixelated and there is no audio, but watch the video below and you'll get to see some of my apartment.

Enjoy!

Updates coming this weekend!

Hey all!

I just got internet in my apartment so I'll be giving some updates this weekend!

I gotta go eat dinner, bye!
