Cleaning Frenzy and I'm an Okie!

Hey ya'll!  Sorry, I'm just trying out my new accent.  I'm an okie now, see?!  Well, I do want to live in Seattle for a while though... what do they call them?

The other night, Jenni
and I were trying to get some major cleaning done in the spare room.  I mean, we threw a
way a ton!  And we aren't done there!  Mom, you would be really proud!  I'm throwing away perfectly good stuff!
Anyway, we got a little crazy so here are some pics!  Even Templeton got crazy!

Also, I'm going to post some other pics I've been sitting on for a while.  Nothing much to update!  Although on Friday I'll be working all day for the Oklahoma Statehood Day.  Watch it live on oklatravelnet.com.

Trippin on the mother road.

Jenni and I decided to take a mini road trip today. We went to Pops. It's this new attraction on Route 66 and it's actually one of the "sponsors" of OklaTravelNews. Here is the breakdown for Pops. It's a gas station, restaurant, convenience store, and soda shop that has over 500 kinds of soda.

Jenni and I drove to Arcadia (just northeast of Oklahoma City), only about 90 miles away, to have some soda and a nice burger. Plus, we always show the "Pops cam" on OklaTravelNews so I wanted to see it in person.

It was really a lot of fun and Jenni enjoyed the drive. We also stopped and took a peek at the round barn.

I'm sure we'll go back and we'll have to take some friends with us.  They have so many different types of soda!  It's fun looking at all the labels and trying to pick an interesting soda.

Well, I gotta run but check out their website here.

OklaTravel"Zoo"

Here's me on the show again. Also, I shot all the video in this package.

It's Friday!

It's Friday everyone! You know what that means... tomorrow is Saturday!

But I don't think I'll get to sleep in though... Yes, she's dragging me into the whole yard sale scene. But I do want to go, so it's not that bad. You just have to get up early or you'll miss all the good deals.

I also have been looking on Craigs List which is a great way to find household stuff for sale at a very good price. We're pretty much just looking for a dining room table/set. Here's our requirements, it must be sturdy, have a dark, espresso color, and also be more on the tall side. I'll let you know what we find if we find anything.

Here is a little update on Templeton, our dog. He is doing very well, a virtually totally potty trained and he's awesome! He is enjoying biting our hands however. But he doesn't bark at fireworks, he loves to snuggle, he listens when you yell at him or tell him something, and he is just great!

My boss gave me an OklaTravelNews coffee mug, which I'm using right now. I love it! I'll have to post a picture of it later. It makes me feel super official now! Just wait till I get my business cards!

While we are talking about work, lets give an update there. It's busy, but I really enjoy it. I love what I do, I love where I do it, and I love the people that I do it with. That sounded bad, but oh well. For those of you that don't know, I'm a video editor. I actually believe that my official title is "Craft Editor." Which basically means that I clean up various packages or stories, I prepare videos for the website by converting them into FLV's (flash video files), editing the hour and half show down to a 12 minute podcast, grabbing a camera and shooting stories with the reporters, and anything else they need me to do.

This isn't a plug or anything, but I am really impressed with what the OklaTravelNet is doing. We really show you a ton of great stuff to do in Oklahoma and I leave work wanting to get out and go to some of these events. If you live in Oklahoma or you are traveling through, definitely check out www.oklatravelnet.com for great things to see and do.

That's a good update for now, I'll try and post later this evening. Take care!

In case you missed it....

This is an excerpt from the show today. Enjoy!

I'm tired of making up titles!

Yes, I know everyone is mad at me for not updating you on everything, but in my defense, it has all been moving at a million miles per hour. I graduated, got married, got a job, and got a dog in like 4 days! Not really, but it felt like that.

I hope you enjoyed the video of the
apartment, feel free to watch the tour if you missed it.

Married life is great. And I'm sure (I hope so) Jenni would say so too. It's great having your own place. You get to decorate how you want, eat what yo
u want, light candles (at ORU we couldn't have candles), and more!

I'm actually more fit now than I was before I got married. I knew it would be like that too because I was too busy with homework and stuff to workout before. Now, I just work all day (which I love) and come home, eat dinner and either go for a bike ride with Jenni or a jog with Jenni, or a walk with Jenni and
Templeton...

Oh, you haven't met? Templeton is our dog. He is a terrier mix from the SPCA. He is probably the most personable dog I have ever met. He's smart, he loves to be pet and rubbed, he's energetic, he doesn't shed, he barely barks, he doesn't smell... he's just great!

Changing lanes... for those of you that don't know, I'm an editor for the OklaTravelNet. Actually, I believe the real title is "Craft Editor." I do a lot
of clean up, not full edits, and I'll upload the videos to the website, prepare them for uploading... a good mixture of stuff.

I really, really enjoy my job. There are great people at work and it's also very interesting stuff. The OklaTravelNet(.com) is a broadband online show about travel and tourism in Oklahoma. We have a live show everyday, but enough
archived video to keep you busy all day.

I just want to say that I am, and Jenni... I guess I'll just say that we are both, just so blessed. I mean, we had a great wedding, great honeymoon, a great apartment, a great dog, I have a great job, we got new bikes, and just so much other stuff.

We want to thank everyone for everything they did for us and our marriage. With the wedding money, we bought new bikes, a great full set of living room furniture (love seat, sofa, 2 glass end tables, glass coffee table, and 2 lamps), graduation money got me a brand new HDTV... just so much stuff!

More on being blessed... I also found a coupon in the back of the "Apar
tment Guide" book that said $300 off our first months rent! That brought rent down to $270 for our first month! What a blessing! Also, I got a new cell phone, for work mostly, that they pay for most of it! It's really cool, it's the Helio Ocean. I just got it yesterday. But see what I'm talking about! God is so good!

I have to say that this really comes from tithing with a good heart. Jenni has taught me to be a good tither and there is something in that that just makes all the difference in the world! There have been some really great sermons at Church On The Move that reminded me a lot of what my Dad has talked about in the past that helped me to understand tithing.

I am also blessed to have such a great family. Both immediate and extended. My parents have taught me many things and the number one thin
g has always been, trust in God. My Dad gave me some Bible verses that I have been meditating on over and over. Here they are:
- Proverbs 14:12: There is a way that seems right to a man but i
n the end it leads to death.
- Proverbs 16:3: Commit the LORD whatever you do and your plans will succeed.
- Proverbs 16:9: In his heart a man plans his course but the LORD dete
rmines his steps.

Wow.

I promise that if you go over those verses, new things will open up to you. The Bible also says that you are to be in the world and not part of it and I notice that that is my main witness. I don't just jump in peoples faces and say I'm a Christian, but already, people at work know there is something different about me. I don't drink, I don't curse, and I let that be my witnes
s. I don't condemn people for doing those things either.

But I have noticed that when I put the Lord first, and my wife second, great things happen. Really amazing things.

Well! I hope that was long enough for you! As a treat for reading the whole
thing, enjoy these pictures! Take care!

I Got The Job!

Hey everybody! It's finally official! I got the job! I am the main editor and photographer for the OklaTravelNet at Ackerman McQueen.

It's very exciting! It's what I wanted at a place I enjoy and with people I like!

A little info on the OklaTravelNet:
"Introducing OklaTravelNet, the world's first and only broadband channel devoted exclusively to travel news. Soon you'll be able to experience the Sooner State like never before, with a vast interactive archive of travel videos on Oklahoma, a live news ticker with links to events and attractions, and more importantly, OklaTravelNews, our daily live news program." - from website

I start June 4th but we set up everything beforehand. They have been very flexible with me, graduating and getting married and all and I greatly appreciate that.

So it looks as if Jenni and I will be living in Tulsa for at least the beginning of our lives! Wish us luck! More info and hopefully pics to come!
