Pics of my "new" room.

Josh left for home today. So that means all of his stuff is gone too, well, almost all of it. I'm taking care of some of it. Anyway, I decided to rearrange the room to see if my idea for my room in the fall would work. Cassidy and I had a certain plan of where to put stuff, but I tried that and it didn't work. So I tried something different and this new thing works great! Now, I just have to see if he approves. Josh has so much stuff so this new setup wouldn't work but with Cassidy, I have more stuff and it works pretty well. Also, with me letting Nick use my TV, that clears up trying to find a place for Cassidy's TV. We'll just put his in the entertainment center. Well, that's all the post I can muster for now. I gotta do laundry and eat some mac and cheese! Woohoo!

A more inanimate post.

I was doing some hard core surfing yesterday and found some pretty cool websites and I thought I would share them with you. I'll just put the url and link, then a brief description, because I had a problem with some links but they weren't my fault.

Fake or a computer generated photo? Think you can tell? Try this quiz. I only got 2 right, I guess because I was trying to overthink it and thought that they were trying to trick me!

This is a really cool fishtank/toilet. Need I say more? But you can't see the fish while you're... you know!

Do you have a significant other? Does it rain where you live? If you answered yes to any of those questions, boy, do we have a product for you!

Ok, that's it for the weird products/quiz section. Next I want to show you some blogs that caugh
t my eye. Notice: These blogs have no affiliation with myself or my views. While there may be some off color stuff, there are still really interesting things in them. I'm sorry I can't elaborate on "stuff" or "things." I feel like I be unedumacated.

This is a blog where people living in NY just submit stuff that they hear on the street that they think is funny. I think I like this blog because it's amazing the things that you hear when just walking by and getting in the middle of a conversation.

This blog started as an art project and turned into a book. People, anyone, can mail in a homemade postcard with a secret that no one else knows about them, on the back of it. Very interesting, but also some things are, like I said earlier, off color.

Well, that's about it for interesting sites! I hope you enjoyed them!

More Photoshop!

Photoshop fun!

Some pics...

Here's me on top of the LRC (6 stories up) videotaping the painters painting the roof of the prayer tower. There are no painters yet so that's how I was able to get a self pic. I had to put it on a tripod.

This is my "base camp." I have water, my bag with a magazine or two, iPod and a small battery operated fan. It got prett warm pretty fast. Even at 6:30am.

While we were stopped getting directions to my teachers house for the 4th of July, I took a funny self portrait.

Jenni and I in Mounds, OK.

The original "5" from freshmen year made an appearance.

Lance band and friends.

I just found a cool page on Wikipedia that gave great insight on the different wrist bands such as the yellow Livestrong band. I didn't know that there were so many out there and even more meanings! Here is the link.

What I'm up to now...

Well, I just finished a big project, so that's about it for now. It was a graphic open and menu for a DVD and I also did graphic transitions for menu to interview transitions. It was fun, but took me a while to come up with an idea that worked with the demographic.

Josh moves out on Sunday. He'll be on vacation until school starts. So that means I'll have my own room! I've never had that and I'm kinda scared... only because it will be boring without the interaction. I'll probably just go over Jenni's, but at night and in the morning, it will just be my and a half empty room... Our friendship really grew a lot this summer. I really had a great summer staying on campus. I like the dorm life, I like my job, so it's perfect. Now, if only Jenni was allowed in my room, I could see her and play video games at the same time!

I get to move into my room on August 9th. For those of you who don't know, for summer, I'm living on Wesley 3, but this Fall I'll be on Wesley 8. Same floor as last year, but different room. I can't wait to move in. It's gonna be relaxing just taking my time moving in... I'll be all done by the time everyone else gets here for classes!

Back to work for a second... I am doing a freelance gig at the Mabee Center running camera for some church service. I'm doing 4 sessions of it. There's no handheld cameras so I just sit on a tripod the whole time. Not too bad! Plus, I haven't done camera in a while, except at church. Did I tell you I ran camera at the big church?

Ok... back to moving to my new room. To ease the move in, I'm going to take stuff from my summer dorm residence and move it into storage, then on the 9th I have barely anything to move up to my new room on 8. Since Josh is leaving, I can't get him to help me and I don't want to ask anyone else because they all have to move their own stuff! That way I only have to move like 2 things and I can leisurely move in the rest of the stuff in the next week or two! Not bad at all!

Well, thats about it. I'm either working, playing video games, or wedding planning with Jenni. Luckily work is only taking the regular 9-5 and no all night shoots. Except I was on top of the LRC 6th floor roof to videotape the painters painting the room of the prayer tower. I have a video clip on my digital camera of that. Ok, I'll go now. Have a great day!

It's time to move on... in the blog that is!

I put of posting new stuff for a while because I know that people were still checking out the blog and I didn't want them to have to scroll down to find info and pics about the engagement. But I think I gave enough time, so let's saddle up and move along!

But first, why did the cowboy get a daschund (weiner dog)? Because the other cowboy told him to "get a long little doggy." Hah! You'll get it later...

I have some new stuff for you all to check out, but you don't have to if you don't want to.

I just found out that HP is offering free online classes for various stuff. Mostly media related but there are some other topics thrown in there. Here is a list of available classes:
- Digital Photography
- Camera techniques/Photoshop CS2
- Security
- Firewall basics/Protect yourself from spam...
- Personal Interest
- eBay strategies/Fantasy Football 101
- Home Office

See, there are a good amount of probably useful information in there, for free! I'm gonna do the Photoshop CS2 class if I have time, although it says beginner so maybe not... I don't know. If anyone does try a class, comment about it on my blog.

Oh, I came across this and I'm almost afraid to post about it. I don't want anyone doing this to my dorm room! I guess somebody's dorm neighbor went away for a few days and his buddies decided to play a trick on him. They turned everything in his room, everything, upside down. I don't just mean flipped over. I mean the floor became the ceiling! It's amazing what 12 people and 600 galvanized screws can do in 9 days when motivated! I mean, they even bought carpet for the ceiling and ceiling tiles for the floor! You have to check out the video, or at least the stills. Here's the link.

Since Jenni and I are now engaged and planning on getting married (like we haven't been before...), and since it's past the "Y2K and computers didn't blow up and are now smarter" time period, we have decided that a website would be perfect for information about our wedding.

There was a site that I set up and it was free and gave us a 2 week trial period of the premium service, but that trial is over and we are back to basic, which has no information on it at all! Barely anything! Anyway... what I'm asking is this, is there anyone who would like to contribute all of even just a little, for Jenni and I to have this website up. It costs $89 for one year. We are getting married in about 10 months, so that's perfect. I looked at making my own site, but with hosting and a domain name and just time in creation, it would be about the same. I also really like the layout and look of this wedding site. The link to our site as of now is here. The company is eWedding.com.

The basic free service includes:
- Nice theme (layout)
- Flash intro
- Limited photos
- Stories (how we met)
- Events
- From us (greeting)
- Background music
- Poll & quiz
- Contact info
- Basic domain name (i.e. ewedding.com/sites/YOURNAMEHERE

The yearly $89 premium service includes
- Nice theme
- Flash intro
- Photo albums
- Unlimited photos
- Maps & directions
- Out of Towners (area info.)
- Stories
- Planning
- Events
- From us
- Guestbook
- Online RSVP
- Dowloads
- Background music
- Audio & Video
- Poll & quiz
- Registry
- Wedding party
- Honeymoon
- Newlyweds
- Mailing list
- Extra information
- Thank you
- Vendors
- Contact
- Free domain name
- Free bridal magazines

Whew! As you can see, they really include everything! We would really appreciate it if someone would donate, but don't think it's expected, I just thought to myself, I said "Kyle..." (I call myself Kyle) "Kyle... you should ask!" And so I did.

So, if you would like to donate to this cause, please comment or send me an email at: scrappapervlog [at] gmail [dot] com. But don't spell it out like that, that's just for spam programs searching for emails. I have a PayPal account if that helps too.

Here's how it happened...

I know you've all been waiting for this story, and here it is.

It was about this time last week. I just couldn't wait any longer to ask her. I was waiting on my Dad to tell some stuff, financially and he gave me the go ahead. So, I knew I could just go out and get it, so I asked her, "I can propose later this week or the next and we could have a full day of stuff to do, like dinner, movie... stuff like that, or I could quite possibly do it today."

I hated to ask her like that, but I just had to. Because I wanted to ask her today, and it would still be special, but it was just last minute.

Well, she said "Yes!" So I was like, "Okay, we'll see." Then I rushed to the mall and picked it up. I then saw her and I told her that it didn't work out, and I don't want to talk about why. So, first, she was all worked up because she thought she was going to get it today, then when I told her no, she got really depressed. She tried to hide it though.

Then I told her that we could still have fun and all. We would go to Riverwalk and maybe dinner, a movie, or whatever. We'll we went back to her place for her to change into something a little nicer because I wanted to wear the new shirt she got me. While we were there, I told her boss that I was going to ask her tonight. I guess she talked to her husband and they told me I could take the Lotus.

I told them that I still had to go back to ORU to change and that I didn't want to take the Lotus there because of the speed bumps. They may be too high.

So I changed, we drove back to Jenni's. She was shocked that we got the Lotus so I told her that they are letting us take it because I told them that I was going to propose tonight, but even though I couldn't, they still wanted us to drive it.

So I also had to "get something" from my work, a videocamera. She didn't see it though.

So, we got to Riverwalk and I told her wait on a bench and I'll get her from around the corner when I am ready. She said ok. She thought I was checking on table reservations, but actually I was just putting a camcorder in the bushes! I was sweatin' like crazy, and not just because it was super hot outside!

So I went and got her and brought her to the bench. I then had to switch seats with her, even though it would have been better to see her face on camera, but she would have seen the camera because there wasn't an awesome place to hide it, but oh well!

I then told her that I was sorry that I couldn't have asked her any sooner. I told her that I was so glad that we had stayed together all of these years. Everything I said after that... was a blur! After rambling for a while, I asked if she wanted to walk around, she said yes so I stood up, but I motioned for her to stay there. I then pulled a box out of my back pocket and got one one knee. I asked those magic words, which really caught her by surprise, and she said yes!

So, it may not be the most romantic story to most people, but it was just perfect for us. Being together for over 6 years, I just wanted to surprise her, and if that meant lying a little bit so she wouldn't see it coming, then oh well! I had to lie to her because she can read me like a book!

We then spent the rest of the evening driving in the Lotus. People were looking at us and we felt so cool. Me in my new car. Her with her new ring. Then we decided to drive to the lower lot of ORU to see some people, show them the car and the ring. It actually did make it over all the speed bumps just fine. Some friends came down and I gave rides in it, just around the parking lot, to a few people. It was a lot of fun. I'll put the video on here soon, but not today.

Well, I hope you all have a great day! Take care!

A few pics for now...

I'm off the market!

I asked the big question yesterday and she said yes! I don't have time right now, but I'll give details later. Also I'll upload parts of the video, yes, I recorded it! I had a camera in the bushes. We are so excited!

Mountain biking again!

Moutain Biking:

Day - Friday 7/7/06
Location - Turkey Mountain
Distance - 5.2 miles
Avg. Speed - 7.8 mph

Day - Saturday 7/8/06
Location - Turkey Mountain
Distance - 6.7 miles
Avg. Speed - 7.5 mph

Both days were pretty much just faster paced riding, but not overly pushing myself. I mean, walking up 3 flights of stairs and my quads start to ache, but at least they're not screamin'. I just need to get my lungs and legs back in order so I can beat Nick on the bike when he gets out here in August. There were some real good rides though. I saw a lot of lizards and squirrels. No one else on the trails practically either! Except a dude on a fully rigid old bike and a mountain unicycle. That unicycle guy is good. Ok, gotta go!

Great new products from a company I luv!

I just read about some great new products for iPod users out there. I know, I know... a lot of us hate being the white earbud toting, apple cult following hippies, but there are some times that I am truly proud of being an iPod user. I actually don't really like saying "iPod user..." Maybe we can call it something else... I'm going to refer to us as uSers, that's a little different and it probably won't stick, but for this post it will.

Anyway, about that company I luv, it's actually called iLuv. Now you understand why I kept saying I luv?! You are so smart... They make a few products for the iPod, mainly catering to the iPod with video, or, for the sake of this post, a "viPod." There are a few items of theirs that are certainly going to show up on my Froogle wishlist very soon, so without further adew (can anyone help me spell that?)...

First off is the iLuv Portable Multimedia Tablet-Style DVD Player with 7" LCD Screen. You can watch a movie that is on your iPod in true widescreen, it
charges the iPod while watching movies, can connect to an external TV through S Video, and a number of other interesting options/features. Pros: Awesome way to watch iPod videos, built in speakers, rechargeable battery. Cons: Price, Size (if you don't want to stand out). It currently costs $249.95, so it's not the cheapest thing out there. I mean, you can get RCA out and watch your iPod on a TV, but I can certainly see this thing getting used in travel a lot. Watch your video podcasts and episodes of Lost, then pop in a DVD from home. I like it! I give it 4 out of 5 scrap papers.

Next is the extended rechargeable iPod battery from iLuv. This thing looks really cool. With your 60GB iPod, it has a battery charge of 55 hours and only doubles the physical size of your iPod. It's very stylish too. It's also only $84.95. Not too bad, considering it's a rechargeable 55 hour battery. I suggest this for people going on long, long, trips who won't have access to outlets very often. Flying, driving, boating, camping, whatever, I think this iPod accessory will be able to handle it all. Now, all I have to do is convice iLuv to let me have one for testing!

Last, but not least is the iLuv Video Recorder. This accessory looks like a regular iPod dock from Apple, but enables you to record directly from your camcorder, TV, or other video sources straight to your iPod. There are a few settings to determine but it seems pretty easy. It supports AV and S-Video input. The price comes in at a hefty $199.95 though. So it's not too cheap, but I like to think of it like Tivo. But you have to be there to record it... hmmm... maybe I'm changing my mind... So stop buying episodes of Lost from iTunes and after recording 100 shows straight from TV, it costs about the same. Maybe I'll wait till it goes on sale. Great idea though! Certainly gets an "E" for effort.

Changing gears...

Jenni is working on a huge, and I mean huge painting. I took he
r to Home Depot to get a big plywood size board to paint on because she bought herself a big roll of canvas instead of buying a bunch of already stretched canvasas. So, it certainly didn't fit in the trunk, but that's ok, because I have a bike rack! That just means, we can put it on the roof without scraping the car. And yes, we used the classic reach out the window and hold tight technique. Don't worry though, Home Depot is like a half mile from her house so it was no big deal. It was just funny!

Now, that's all I have time for right now, but I do have a list of stuff I want to talk about later. It includes...
- Sour Patch Kids Commercials
- Sony DVD & TV Remotes
- Vending maching gambling
- Jared the Subway guy.
- Clear lens glasses vs. tinted lenses
- Mountain biking again!
- Plus much, much, more!

Some minor new stuff.

I just found some new Google stuff. Well, actually just one google stuff. Or google thing, I guess it would be called. It's called Sketch Up. It is a "simple but powerful tool for quickly and easily creating, viewing and modifying your 3D ideas. Check it out at: Google Sketch Up. I can't say I've tried it myself though. I'm at work, and I don't want to download anything here for fear of breaking something. I'll try it tonight or tomorrow and post my findings.

The fourth of July was good. I'll post some pics soon. I don't have much though. Well, that's it for now. I have to go. See ya!
